Welcome to the forum Davidc
It's a while since I made software CDs
But as best as I recall you can create a file in the root directory of the CD called autorun.inf
Create this file in Notepad or other text editor. Enter something like this
[autorun] open=.\go.exe
The go.exe is the name of the program to run. The .\ means the file is in the current directory (as compared to the autorun file) - i.e. the root of the CD
I am not so sure on the midi+wavs. I think you need a sound editing program to do this, but I there may be a shareware utility or something.

David, and anyone else interested in making CD's with auto runs and entry splash screens with hot buttons. I am using software from this sitehttp://www.killersoftware.com/makecdrom/index.htmand it works very well, you can produce some smaller three button entry screens before paying the small fee that they charge for the full version. I have tried others and this one is one of the better ones for the price that I have used for my work. You will need an editing program for artwork that allows you to position objects by the number of pixels on location so you can determine how to place mouse over buttons that make sound and call the programs on the CD, you can't allign the images without knowing exactly where to put them. There is another program that I downloaded that will call a standard website from a CD by activating your current browser, I will have to look it up and get back to the board on where it came from, it was free and may also work to call other programs.

I just hate to give away great secrets, but there is some super cool software out there that can be had at very reasonable prices athttp://www.mediachance.com/ If your trying to build CD's or stand alone programs, they have a program called Multimediabuilder MP3 that is perfect for making CD autoruns and controls to start or install software from CD's, I have also built complete programs with the software, but it is not really designed for large projects. They have graphic editor software that is killer for building E-Book covers and banners with as well. Next to the E-Book Compiler, this software or some like cannot be done without when building media anyway. Dan
