I may be just a little leary, paranoid, or whatever, but I do have concerns that my (how-to) ebook which is very reasonably priced, would be shared among the small, but growing population of people in my field like wildfire.
As a protective measure I have decided that I will allow one use of the ebook, encouraging each reader to print their copy, and that's it. I reasoned that if I allow 24 hours of use, that in a day's time, they could send it to any number people who would be able to open it with the customer's password, right?
I would like to know if anyone has any feedback on that subject which might change my mind? Or be in agreement?
BTW, it is a small publication, just 15 pages of highly specialized information.
Thanks in advance, Cheryl

Active passwords are tied to the computer ID, so one password won't work on another's machine. If you have 1000 passwords, it's a chance of 1 in 1000 of the second person being able to use the password.
If you leave the first page, with the table of contents unprotected, users can pass around the book, and if they like their initial impression of the contents, they can buy a password and open up the rest of the book.

Thank you!! Roger, I will edit my first page to have it contain a little more of a preview and do just as you said. Thanks for another response. Cheryl
