I'm interested in buying Activ Ebook Compiler since I've read so many great things about it, but there are no sample ebooks or pictures so I can see the product it creates.
Can you point me to some samples?

The question here was where could he find a sample of what an eBook produced on Active would look like. I'd like to see one as well. A sample is the best way of promoting interest in a product. There is no sample (apparently) and no interest in the fellow's question. Calibre is starting to look awfully good to me.

The trial version explains how to "build your own" eBook. Most people who create eBooks do so with the idea of selling them for a profit -- not giving them away as examples.
With Activ E-Book there are so many different ways you can construct an eBook -- what one person creates for his project may completely unsuitable for what you want.
The best way to use Activ E-Book is work your way through the instructions paying attention to what options and features you might find helpful. If you try to take short cuts by copying what someone else has done - you'll never learn what the program has to offer.
Personally, most of my "eBooks" are actually more like software programs (see HYPrLock) and not eBooks in the normal sense. The traditional eBooks I've created use extremely advanced techniques that would take many months of study to duplicate (and would be very confusing to newbies).
You can do things with Activ E-Book that would be impossible with any other eBook software. That is one of the great things about Activ E-Book -- it is so versatile you are not constrained by cookie cutter technology.

You're right -- Activ E-Book creates a compiled Windows "exe" program that does not work on a Kindle.
The post by amazonnbtrader is just an example of unsolicited spam.

Ron! would it not be a GREAT IDEA for you to actually create a mini ebook with AEC, showing how your HyprLock works in a real book. And sell if for a dime or so - that way your own potential customers can get a feel for your product and actually see how a HyperLock transaction works out from a customer perspective.
