Many ebookcompiler owners were hopping that the beginning of 2008 will be the time that the Ebookcompiler program would be updated and fix the bug called 2038 [where any ebook created by this program will stop functioning].
Sunil can simply update 4.1 and fix the bug instead of waiting version 5.0 for several years.
I think this is huge disappointment, and I think Sunil may already abandon this program, I hope he did not. We simply want this bug fixed because we love this program.
Sunil, please simply fix 4.xx and update it.
hope you all have a good times.

I am working on the update. There is absolutely no way that I would abandon the program!
And I apologize that there is a problem which will occur in 30 years time.

Sigh... I'll be in my 80's by the time this is a problem, so forgive me for not giving a ****. Talking of which, in 1894, The Times of London estimated that by 1950 every street in the city would be buried nine feet deep in horse manure.... They weren't....

I'm sure the Times meant BS and not horse manure
Of course, the BS could be over most peoples heads and they wouldn't see it

I can understand a disappointment for certain things in software, but I'm not all that concerned personally about an issue that won't happen for another 30 years. Why? Here's a few reasons.
1.) Most people will have replaced their PC at least 4 times in the next 30 years. This means that it is highly unlikely they will have the same software on their PC.
2.) I would hope that people that write ebooks will update them with new content as in 30 years anything they write now will be clearly outdated material by that time. This is unless you are writing a fictional story.
3.) By then I'm more than sure that Sunni will have updated the Activ software quite a few times. Therefore, I would imagine you would be recompiling your ebooks anyway when you update their content.
4.) Sunil says that he will never abandon the program, however, 30 years from now Sunil may be retired or have his kids working on the software, lol.
In conclusion, I feel that a "disappointment" at such an early stage is simply putting more stress on yourself than need be.
