I keep seeing new listed on posts on the main page - when I go into the forum, they aren't there!
For example - the "marketing" forum shows a new post icon, and a post by Sunil on 28 June. In the forum, no sign of it. Am I going mad? Or is it just where the moderator has removed an unsuitable post?
Hope I'm NOT going mad - it's so hard to type when wearing a straight-jacket!
What happens is we get some drive by spam. A person will register, and post an inappropriate or advertising message (often multiple identica;l copies, or nearly identical copies, the same message) to more than 1 or more forums.
I archive these, and ban the member in the question. When I archive them, a, er, feature, in ikonboard says I posted, even when I didn't. What you are seeing is the time I did an archive of one of these messages from that forum.
I agree this is annoying, but I don't know how to fix this with ikonboard (maybe a new version of the ikonboard software would fix?). I hope to change to different forum software in future, perhaps vBulletin, but haven't figured out how to retain the old posts (and I don't want to lose the valuable discussions we have had), but if I do figure this out, then the problem will eventually go away.

It's a PHP thing (FREE) and allows you to import everything from your current setup. Might be worth a look.
Edited to add:
Sorry - forget that. I see it only converts a later version but ikonboard will be available in PHP soon so maybe a simple update will fix it. I'm sure it will improve the search speed at any rate.
I've left it in anyway incase others want to try Invision Board...
