Hello, you may have noticed that we changed the forum layout earlier this week.
We did this to make it easy for people with smaller monitors to use the forum (the old design looked great at 1280X1024 but not everybody has such a big screen)
I meant to email you that I really like the change! I am one of those people with a smaller monitor and it does save me quite a bit of scrolling with the new layout.
Sunil, I have a very large screen to work with also, but since my patrons on the average use 800 x 600 resolution, I build most of my media on that resolution and keep my monitor on that size as well, (family say I am getting old and just can't see as well ) I like the way it lays out here, very well done. Dan
I think the forum looks great, but this is my first day here and I want to let you know what has been happening this last hour or two.
When I first started posting, everything worked great. The pages were saved quickly and new pages were served to me with dispatch. I am using a Windows 2000 PC with ADSL, so the pages arrived instantly.
The problems began about 2pm Monday 15 April (today) The pages have slowed to a crawl and will often time out leaving me with 404 pages. I have been waiting 2 or 3 minutes for a post to save! Most of the graphics are missing as well.
I think the host this site is on did have a little burp earlier today (it fits your time), as I did get an alert message for 2 other sites on the same network (although not this particular one).
My guess is they lost one of their connections (I think they have about 4 lines) for a brief while
I didn't actually see the problem myself, but chances are I was being directed in from a different route.
BTW i noticed on my broadband (which is the same one as yours) that I occassionally lose the connection or DNS on that for brief periods, few mins at a time. This a separate problem, not related to the particular site being viewed. So it could be that.
I have tried to post off and on all day. I had some success now and then, but the forum didn't start working properly until around 7pm. It's 10pm now and everything is fine.
I'm glad I came by.

I'm pretty sure the host for this site has some issues with connectivity and/or a particular machine.
I've had a few alerts for different sites at the same host today (don't usually get any alerts for weeks at a time).
I haven't checked the logs, and won't bother if the problem goes away within a day or so (as I expect it will with this type of problem), but I have sneaking suspicion that all the issues on a particular machine at the host as it's the same ones being affected (if I remember corectly on the same machine as this site)
There are also some notes on their system status page about maintenace work they have been doing the last few days
Sorry your first day on the forum has been rough, just bad luck I guess, but it should get better
