This is my first post, so welcome to everyone here.
The reason for this post is to see if you think my idea will fly.
I'm thinking of doing an ebook of jokes, all categorised and searchable, etc. It would have nearly 4,000 jokes in it, so not a small book and I would want to charge for it. Do you think I could charge for it ? if so, how much do you think I could charge ? I was thinking around the $5-$10 mark.
It would be a big download, so I would prefer to only sell it on CD, do you think this would work as well ?
That is pretty much what I was thinking and the idea has slightly changed to now include funny pictures (1,600+). The only reason I thought initially that it might work is the size of all the content and now with the pictures it would be at least 130MB in size, so quite a download from the internet !
Why not create the bare bones of the ebook for download, but have all the pages and pictures called from the net?
So okay, the customer would have to be online while he finds the joke he wants to use, but you could persuade him that this is okay because you will be doing free joke updates for 3 months... 6 months? In other words, turn a hassle into a selling point.
I have a product on sale (not created by me) that does this kind of thing with info ebooks. You probably know it. It's called The Freetosell info package.
