 »I need major help
lonewolfauctions ok, i have to be the dumbest ebook builder in history. lets see if i can explain this.  I want to take my already published poetry book and turn it into an ebook. I do not agree with the price the stores that carry it are charging. february was royalty month and i made no sales...well duh, its the price. so since my contract states that i can sell my own book any way i see fit, this is what i chose to do. now normaly I am computer literate, I created my website with relative ease. now i have already tried to create my ebook and was i think sucessfull in creating it in pdf format. but i cant get it to read like a book, it just scrolls from front cover to back cover.  anyway is there anyone that can do this for me. once it is created properly, i have no idea how to secure it and sell it on my site....call me every variation of stupid you want, just please HELP!!!

Probably the easiest way to create an electronic version of your published book is to convert it to a PDF file. Unfortunately -- the results are not much like a real book (as you've noted in your message).

There may be a way to do that in the PDF format (using Flash etc.) but I'm not a PDF author so know little about using it that way.

Unless you can find a way to make PDF do what you want -- it looks like you'll need to convert every page of your publication to an HTML file. -- and make an HTML eBook. This can sometimes be very tedious and time consuming but it will provide the results you want.

Unfortunately, unless you are familiar with HTML code and how to use it... you could be in for a rough time. Publishing an eBook is not a simple as publishing a "paper" book. In today's world, an eBook author must be a web site designer and an HTML/JavaScript coding master as well as a content writer. There is no ePublishing sector comparable to "paper" book publishing.

If you do not have the skills to manage your own ePublication, you'll either need to learn how to do everything yourself (time consuming) or hire someone to do it for you (can be very expensive). Hiring someone to publish your eBook in HTML format could run into hundreds if not thousands of dollars (depending on how difficult the job is and how critical you are of the final product). Like everyone else, "custom" coders want to be paid for their effort.

In any case, once you get your eBook ready to publish, you could look to HYPrLock for your download distribution and eBook security.
