Im seeing all the hype, the number one selling product is info books. But are all these people actually making money or just reselling product that tells everybody that the money is in sell these ebooks.
There are some interviews with ebook authors that you might want to read atwww.ebookinterviews.com
Their ebooks are on a variety of topics
You might also look over some non marketing categories in ClickBank as they are sorted according to some complex algorithm, but where higher sales tend to rank higher. Not all (the majority I think) are not about marketing/promotion.
Yes Jeff! It is possible to make a lot of money selling ebooks online. On my book, "Bankruptcy Paralegal Training Course," I made over $30,000 this year. That may not be a lot to some people but I didn't have to work full-time outside my home.
In a way, you are 100% correct. I personally fee that to make not only decent money, but also keep customers, you should write your own e-books.
When you go to sell, "The Real Secrets of eBay", you and literally millions of others are selling the "same" e-book. You and millions of others have the same resell rights. You really have to watch it when you buy e-books and get "resell" rights.
If you are going to sell e-books via the "resell" method, make sure the books make sense. I have paid for some e-books with resell rights (as high as $29.95) as part of a package and noticed large amounts of grammar and spelling errors. Furthermore, make sure the e-book you are buying is not one that is already flooding the market.
My suggestion, as always, is to write your own e-books. Research topics that interest you and write about them (i.e. if you are in to the nonfiction books).

I liked the last post that talked about resell books because when you buy a package of e-books with resell rights, you do have hundreds of people competing with you on Ebay and on the search engines to sell the same ebooks.
I am someone who has made money in e-books since 1996 (one of the "Amazons of E-Books" on the site I mentioned) and just like published books, you can have a "hit" book or a dud.
The e-book Improve Your Credit Score In 24 Hours has sold over 40,000 copies on TheBestEver.Net for instance, but some e-books sell just a few a month. You need something unique and something everyone agrees is a hit.
You're asking the right questions Jeff! I lecture and teach classes on making money selling e-books and I've seen people start to make money online with their ideas. You could be next. Noelani Rodriguez

Well Jeff I think your questions requires a little bit of clarification. First you asked about ebooks, and then you made reference to "Re-selling" ebooks.
Ebooks are a great way to make money. However, generally, making the book yourself is a better bet then getting one of those resell packages. Those packages have flooded ebay and many of the books sell for a few cents which make almost all copies wothless. The WORST part about them, is that VERY OFTEN they are LOW quality books.
Out of curiousity I purchased about a dozen ebooks from Ebay to see what the hype was about in these resell packages. I didn't want to sell them, I just wanted to see the formating, and quality. Anyways, I was shocked to see that the first book I opened was copywriten. When I looked into the matter a litte further, I found the original authors webpage and he even had a comment on his homepage about the popular misuse of his product. He was in legal battles with a few individuals who unlawfully (and unknowingly) were distributing his book without consent.
Another problem I encounted was a quality problem. The advertisement on ebook informed me that if I wanted I could "Resell these books at $40 a book". I figured they must be high quaility ebooks to be sold for that much money. As I opened up each book, It was awful looking, unformated text with advertising laced throughout the guide. Often the books were only about 14 pages long. $40??????
That being said, I have been in the ebook industry myself for over 5 years now, and I've seen many have great success within the industry by writing their own material. I myself have made a good amount of money selling ebooks.
