how do i make it so that people can't distribute my ebook after they download it ( i use pdf, and adobe acrobat).....if you can't stop this from happening, then what's the best solution.... + do any of the 3rd-parties (verotel/clickbank) offer a solution??? Thanks for any help
1. Stopping people from downloading from your site who haven't paid - This issue can be addressed by various means including various web server scripts, making the file name/URL of the download hard-to-guess etc
2. Stopping people pass on copies of your ebook once they have download - I don't know the answer for PDF. For ebooks made using our compiler, most people use multiple passwords, seewww.ebookapprentice.com/sell/cbpassword
For "Window" users I like to propose that you bundle your pdf or acrobat eBook inside an Activ E-Book. It's an excellent value for an eBook Compiler and offers 1000 password protection as well as preventing 2nd hand installation of password protected sections.
This procedure would also let you use "HYPrLock" for secure eBook Disabling and Refund management.
I haven't tried this one, but I've used several others from Will and found them easy to use and install (I'm a CGI newbie!). This one is US$49, and has a demo to try.
Well, besides using passwords there are sites that offer protection of your information products by offering temporay download pages as well they give options of suspending licences to those you suspect are "passing" out your ebooks. I've run across a few sites offering this service and most charge a monthly fee for providing this service, like a members only site. It all depends on your situation and if you want to be on the hook for $24.95 a month or whatever they charge, if you have quite a few ebooks out on the net this might be an option for you to consider but shop around before you commit your hard earned dollars.
