Hello everyone I have found a perfect paperback book. I want to transfer it to the ebook format and market it as such. The only problem is I am NOT the author of the book! My question to you is:
How do I go about getting the authors permission for doing this???? What would be a fear deal to offer him in return ??????
HOW DO I CONVINCE HIM ???
p.s This book is being sold at amazon and other stores as a paperback but is poorely rated..how could I use this to my advantage
ALL SUGGESTIONS AND IDEAS ARE MORE THAN WELCOME!!!!!
Not sure about the deal, but if you do make a deal - will his publisher and contract allow him to make this kind of deal? Have you had a lawyer look at this aspect?
Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, this is not legal advice.
Very good point. I have to find out about that one as well. If anyone here knows anything about this, please respond..... Who own the rights to the book.. the author or the publisher???
Actualy it depends. The right over the book is stipulated in the contact between the publisher and the writer. However, if the writer have the rights, a 30% of the profits as his share will be fair enough.
