Greetings! I'm thrilled to have just discovered this wonderful community, with so many knowledgeable individuals.
I've done quite a bit of reading about HYPrLock, which so far looks like the best cornerstone for a "total" ebook marketing, payment and security solution.
There are a few questions that I haven't been able to find the answers to yet. I was hoping that some of the members here might be able to help.
An alternative system I was looking at (Secure-eBook.com) specifically mentions that prospects can download the ebook file and read a designated sample (teaser) section, which induces them to purchase the product. From my own experience as a consumer of information products, this approach has impressed me as highly effective.
I wasn't able to tell from the HYPrLock.com website whether this system is possible with HYPrLock, used in combination with Activ E-Book. In other words, is it possible to have a free sample section that someone who downloads the file is able to read, before making the purchase? (And also, this free sample preview section would be visible to anyone to whom the document file is forwarded).
I'll save my other questions for later. Thanks very much in advance for whatever light you may be able to shed on this question for me.
HYPrLock/Activ E-Book supports Try mode (aka trialware - demoware) equivalent to your "free sample section". Any content not specifically password protected would (by definition) be accessible and "free" -- depending on how you constructed your eBook. HYPrLock itself uses this distribution model.
HYPrLock also includes a Try mode purchase system which is great for viral marketing. New customers are automatically offered the chance to purchase their own password if they try to "share" your eBook.
