Best marketing for ebooks?

»Need insight on best ways to market info products.

jmoorehouse Does anyone have a system or formula that works best for ebook marketing?  I currently do SEO, PPC and affiliates and want to know if there is anything else I should be doing.

Thanks,

InfoClicks IMHO you cant beat a good JV with a big list owner.

Consider creating a free ebook that you could offer to another site owner.  Suggest they could give it away to their customers, subscribers, visitors etc - include an "about the author" or similar type page (go softsell) and you could drive some serious targeted traffic to your site.

I stopped worrying about SEO and have tripled my online income in the last two years.  Concentrate on building up relationships with other site owners, write a few articles and get them published and build up a strong mailing list.

swiftdeal Hi

I would suggest using articles. Create a few small articles on the same subject as your ebook. Maybe even use the same content from one of your chapters if need be. Then submit them around the web.

You'd be surprised at how quickly your articles can get published on all sorts of web sites. Make sure you write a 2-line compelling byline advertising your web site.

Want more info on this? Go tohttp://www.trafficforwords.com.

Get this right and you can practically forget about SEO from now on!

theideaman I don't have one particular formula that works best,
I don't worry about PPC advertising or SEO optimization myself, I depend on writing articles and getting my "mug shot" out as much as possible.

I aslo concentrate on recipricol linking if my neurological
conditions co-operate.

Everyone here has given good advice, the only other
suggestion I have is to be as creative in your advertising as possible, and watch your budget.

Hope it helps.

information biz To be honest. All of the ideas on this board are good ideas. However I think many ebook writers and marketers biggest mistake is only doing a mediocre job on specific areas of marketing. For instance... you may say your Doing SEO, but is your site showing up on the first page or two of Google or Yahoo. If not then you should make it your mission to ensure you land on the first page of a major search engine. It doesn't matter if you get your site on google's 7th page. As well writing articles is great put write a lot of them and GET THEM PUBLISHED. There are countless sites looking for free content you just need to find them. Paying for advertising is great as well, but my philosophy has always been to make sure my site can stand on it's own two feet without the help of paid advertising. This technique has allowed me to make about $2000 + / month marketing my ebooks and my cost is virtually nothing.

Hope this helps.

information biz PPC= "pay per click"... this is the process where you pay someone (i.e. a search engine or another website) to display a link to you site. Everytime someone clicks on the link, you will be charged a fee (usually about 2 cents to 20 cents per click depending on the website.

SEO= Search Engine Optimization.... SEO is the process by which webmaster "optimize" their webpages to show up high in the search engines such as Google and Yahoo.

EBookCompiler You find a brief description of how pay per click works atwww.searchenginerocket.com

For pay per clicks:

1. you have to pay for the traffic.

2. If you do it - bid on LOTS (hundreds, thousands) of relevant keywords - you may find our pay per click galaxy program atwww.marketingrocket.comhelpful for this.

3. Concentrate on the main pay per clicks - Overture, FindWhat, perhaps Kanoodle, Enhance, SearchFeed

For SEO:

1. Get a copy of web position, and/or read hitting the search engines (this is also on marketingrocket)

2. Build up links to your site from other sites on similar topics.  Allowing others to reprint articles in return for a link back (include instructions on your site), or start an affiliate program, or swap links with other sites, etc.  *BUT* avoid swapping links with sites on different topics, or junk sites which are just lists of links.

3. Try and get intowww.DMOZ.org- you can submit free.  Spend some time getting your site right, good content (etc), reading other similar sites description in DMOZ and submitting to the right category etc. This will also help with #2

Hope this helps
