Hi All: I had a client email me a question. He's a first time author and put himelf in a bit of a jam, his book is targeted at teenagers who don't have as much buying power as an adult would.
His ebook is already created, he's considering selling it for 5 bucks a copy or give it away to those who signup for his ezine.
The only other thing I could think he could do is alter the ebook a bit to target a market with more buying power and to increase the price of his ebook.
I think that the teenage market is a growing one online and they do have some buying power, especially if the ebook is related to their hobbies and interests.
I think he should start by giving it away to build up a client email list -- just to see what the response rate is.
I too offer an ebook geared at the teenage market and that was one of my major concerns. However for over a year now I've been offering my product for 24.99 and people have been eating it up. The only problem is that offering it online excludes people becuase many teens dont have credit cards. To get around this give them an order form and a mailing address they can send the form to. After you recieve the form you can send them the download link via email.
