Trying to decide

Magus75 Hi all

I've been evaluating all sorts of eBook compilers. I've kind of narrowed my choices down to two or three. I know this forum is intended for users of Activ E-Book Compiler, but would like some honest feedback from users who have tried both products I'll mention.

My current "short list" is this:

* Activ E-Book Compiler
* E-Book Gold 3.1

As far as price goes, Activ E-Book Compiler wins hands down. No comparison and end of story.

I'd be lying if I didn't admit that the interface and features of the E-Book Gold weren't attractive. But I really like the ability of Activ E-Book to change and prompt for a new password if copied.

So for anyone that has used both products, which did you prefer? Why?

Cheers... Rick

rlemire Rick;

There are many different eBook compilers and it's difficult to get past the online hype, but sometimes you need to move beyond the obvious and look a little deeper. Activ E-Book has one feature that no other eBook compiler has. It's called Activ Script, a built in scripting language.

Why is this important? Activ Script gives eBook authors the ability to directly interact with a customers computer such as reading and writing files. For example you could keep track of test scores, or other customer choices made right in your eBook. With scripting "know how" you can even create standalone "exe" computer programs not just eBooks.

Of more importance to many Activ E-Book authors though, is the ability to use my HYPrLock Security software (requires Activ E-Book). HYPrLock has an Automatic Payment System that allows you to instantly issue a password after a customer purchase (without sending e-mails). The HYPrLock distribution system has a built-in ordering system for PayPal and ClickBank and the ability to sell your product with "BuyNow" buttons or "eBay" and automatically issue a password after your product is downloaded. HYPrLock can also instantly lock the eBook if a customer asks for a refund.

If you want to distribute PDF documents in your eBook, HYPrLock has a proprietary PDF security system called HYPrPDF that uses invisible PDF passwords. HYPrLock is the only security system that can prevent PDF hacking.

The HYPrLock Security system doesn't use an online database, tracking system or charge a hefty monthly fee. It's modest one time purchase allows you to provide exceptional security for an unlimited number of eBooks.

Magus75 Hi Carrie

I eventually made a choice on my software. Have you just downloaded the eval or did you buy the software? You said for us to feel free to email you, but from what I see there is no email address for us to use.

If you would like to converse offline, my email is rstone75 (at) kc (dot) rr (dot) com.

I'll be happy to share with you what I can to help you get started. I've been selling some eBooks off a site now for a few months and so far so good. My site is intended for a very focused audience, but maybe you can get a feel for things by looking it over.http://www.gooberguides.com

Cheers... Rick
