I've been trying to include a simple JavaScript html editor in an Activ Ebook. (Turns text area field into a basic wysiwyg editor.)
Everything works fine, except one thing: Nothing happens when pressing the Return/Enter key to insert a new paragraph. It's simply ignored.
I've tested at least 10 different JS html editors - exact same problem with each one. It works in the external html page - but as soon as it's compiled with Activ, it stops working.
I'm guessing the compiler is blocking the Return/Enter key somehow. So the question is.. Is there ANY way to get around this problem?
I have successfully been using a "rich text" (text area) text editor in my "StoryMaker" product with Activ E-Book for many years and have not noticed any problems. The program was built using JavaScript and it is password protected as well. Most of my functions are controlled by "buttons" but you can use the "Enter" key to install a new line -- so the "Enter" key is active and it functions.
I don't know what is causing your problem but the Activ E-Book compiler is not blocking your "Enter" key function because of a basic AEB design issue.
