Auto Payment system

Does anyone know the situation with Microcreation auto payment system? I'm still waiting for replies to questions that I sent to them months ago after buying one of the versions. Seeing it only works with activ theres not much point in asking on any other forum, but am I right in thinking they might have gone? If so, its bad that you can still buy (it looks like) if theres no backup help like is claimed.

Oh dear! Are there no other APS users on here that can help? I cannot even finish testing it with my trial book. You are meant to be able to cancel your dummy paypal purchase part-way through, with it showing you just how the password system works, but all I get is a window saying that theres a script error and that something is undefined. (There's still no reply from the software writer.)

Lynne; I distribute HYPrLock ( an alternate system to Microcreations APS ) but I have tested the APS system and was able to get it working. From your description it sounds to me like you have an error in the PayPal code. When testing the PayPal purchase system (see step 10) you must find the entry (input type="hidden" name="business" value =) and make sure the value is set so it looks like the following <input type="hidden" name="business" value="microcreations@att.net"> then the cancel return value must be set to <input type="hidden" name="cancel_return" value="http://www.yourwebsite.com/redirect.htm"> Where "www.yourwebsite.com/redirect.htm" is the online web site location where you've stored "redirect.htm" web page. With these entries, when you click to make a PayPal payment and you get to the PayPal payment web page you must cancel the payment. This should "re-direct" you to the "redirect.htm" web page and back to your eBook.
If you still get the same error please and do not get to the PayPal web site then you should try downloading and reinstalling a fresh copy of APS ( maybe your present copy is corrupted ). Ron

Thank you, Ron, for your reply. I have checked those entries you mentioned and I had amended them correctly before recompiling my trial book. The test involves canceling from paypal but there is no cancel button? How do you cancel? I try to connect to Microcreations web location for newest (mine v2.0) version yesterday but now unavailable, so it looks as though they have stopped selling.

I now see that 'return to merchant' is instead of cancel button. When pressed, thats when I see the error box telling me that 'passwordlist' is undefined, and gives me a line and char number. I wonder if this my mistake or in program?

Lynne; Yes the 'return to merchant' is equal to the cancel button This time it looks like your error. You really need to follow all of the instructions that came with the software. This includes creating a password list and adding it to your eBook as instructed. Microcreations APS is one of my competitors and I have no contact with the program or it's author. I know APS used to work well but I think it is limited in it's feature list compared to HYPrLock. Ron

Thankyou again Ron. You were right about being my error. The password list was missing from the page which caused the undefined message. Testing is interesting now that the writers site has gone, but I will find some other method. I realise now that you are a competitor to this software so I'm more impressed that you bothered to reply! Thankyou very much.

Lynne; I'm glad I could be of help From your earlier post, it appears that the Microcreations PayPal test site is still working ( you were able to use "microcreations@att.net" ) and also able to use the "Return to Merchant" link to return to your eBook. If you corrected the problem with your password list then everything should work OK. After repeating the test and confirming that you get a valid password - just change the test entry from "microcreations@att.net" to your own PayPal ID email address. If you have followed all of the program instructions you should be good to go. Ron
