Another Rebrander Question

bigal Hi,

I am about to release an ebook with different reprint rights purchasing options - one of the options is to have the ebook rebranded.

The question is there a way to prevent those who don't purchase the rebrand rights who already have a rebrand tool from another purchase from  rebranding the book.

I know I can do that by creating another version for myself but what about others who have the book rebranded with their links and are uin turn passing on the rights.

EBookCompiler Each rebrander for Activ E-Book Compiler is unique to a particular ebook.  Infact, unique to a particular version of a particular ebook
(the version that was compiled at the same time)

Thus my rebrander will only work against my ebook.  Your rebrander will only work against your ebook, etc.

There isn't any special protection to stop the rebrander EXE file being passed on to somebody else - although you could customize the start up message in the rebrander (it's on Edit Output) to say "this rebrander is only legally available from site XYZ please email bigal@whatever.com if you find an illegal copy of this program in another site"

So in summary, as far as Activ E-Book Compiler is concerned, a person can't just use any rebrander against any ebook.  It has to be the right one.

I believe in some other e-book compiler programs, this doesn't apply, and any old rebrander will work against any book (ouch!)
