I have made quite a few successful eBooks but am having a difficulty with a script. What I have done is put some PowerPoint files within an eBook. These are .pps extensions and play fine in PowerPoint or PowerPoint Viewer.
So, I put script in to open these files embedded in the eBook with their associated applications:
<a href="##OPEN('{ebook}\setup.pps')">Meter Setup and Probe Placement</a>
This works fine on PCs that have PowerPoint. However, on PCs that have only PowerPoint Viewer installed, there is an error message that says there is no application associated with this file. PowerPoint Viewer is in fact associated with the .pps extension and will open up the files as long as they are not in the eBook.
Well, partly. You have to create an Open command, direct it to the location of PowerPoint Viewer as shown in the above link, and then make that the default action.
