....EW Business Portal for book distribution etc? Reads quite well, but there's nothing quite like an endorsement! Youcan find the info at - http://www.ewportal.com/index.php Regards to all....
Here's a similar program at about half the price. Can't endorse this particular program since I haven't used it, but did purchase their TextAds program and it works great.
Evening, Storyman! Ta for info... Have had a quick look. Yes, cheaper than the other, but you also need to add PHP 4+ and MySQL, which i would guess aren't cheap? I'm now selling my books through eBay, but finding that my "el cheapo" mathod of doing things is causing headaches! Accepting PayPal only, sending out autoresponse emails to purchasers telling 'em where the book file in question is hosted. They've then got to download it, and subsequently apply for the 1/1000 password. Can't automate my response 'cos I don't know their book number in advance! Have also got problems with buyers who have web-mail - their spam filters are real pains! Yes - DIY is fine, unless you want to spend time away from your PC! Not exactly flush with funds at present, so searching for the best/cheapest (bad combination!) system of distrubution etc.... Ta again, RR
You might want to verify with ewportal that they do not need PHP/MySQL. My hunch is that their program does.
If you go to the site mentioned and go to the forum you'll be able to read the installation instructions. I appreciate a company more when they are upfront with requirements, etc.
Check with your web hosting company. You probably do have PHP/MySQL already. It is pretty much standard these days.
See your point... Did actually ask BT just those questions a few weeks ago : I have a site with them already, but thought I'd check anyway.... Surprisingly, their answer (from their helpdesk) was "no", but I can't now remember which element.
