1000 passwords x2?

Caroline
Hi,

I need to provide several hundred review copies of my ebook that I'll be giving away for free.  Suppose I then assign a "Review Copy" status to this ebook version and generate the 1000 passwords in any one of the configurations.  In that case, will I then be able to generate another batch of 1000 unique passwords based on another configuration, for much the same eBook though its ESBN number will then be different?

Sorry for the confusing text.  I will be selling the eBook.  Only, the review copies, as always, will be distributed free.

Storyman Hi Caroline,

The way the passwords work is that it uses an algorithm based on the hard drives serial number. There is a 0.1% chance that any two users will use the same password.

When you create your ebook it is possible to create one password list for the reviews, then for the final version you can generate a different password list.

Another approach is to create the review ebooks to have an expiration date, say 30 days after first opening. Or a set number of times they can be opened. If you want to comp the reviewers with a copy of the final release for the book (that doesn't have a time frame restriction) then use the same password list. This way if they install the final release of your book (on the same hard drive) it will automatically open with whatever restrictions you choose.

I hope I'm clear and it answers your question.
