Storyman Just to be sure we are on the same page. It appears that you are attempting to compile an ebook. If that is the case first verify that all files (imgages, html/htm, etc.) are all contained in the source file and that NO FOLDERS are contained within the source directory.

It is easiest if you use a single html page to create a test ebook for yourself. Be certain that the output is written to the OUTPUT folder.

Storyman At this point lets work from a single HTML page that is in the source folder.

1) under the directory 'My Documents' create a folder called 'My Ebooks'.
2) create three folders inside of 'My Ebooks': include, output, source.
3) open Activ and create a project file. Save the project file to the 'My Ebooks' folder.

Open Windows Explorer and verify that the project file 'name-of-project.aep' exist inside the 'My Ebooks' folder along with the folders: include, source, output.

4) copy the test html file to the source folder.
5) return to Activ and set up the source folder. When you click on the files tab you should see the test HTML page. If you don't press F5 to refresh the folder. If you still don't see it then you need to stop and make certain that you understand how to create a new project.
6) click on the Output tab, then double click on Output. A window will open. Use browse to locate the Output folder.
7) click on the icon with the airplane. You should now be able to access your ebook.

Storyman Did you change any of the default options--like security, expiry? How about the system pages?

Since it starts the compile process it seems that it gets stuck because it doesn't find something that it is expects.

Storyman Did you click on the Output tab, then double click on 'Output E-Book EXE'? You can then use the browse button to navigate to the Output folder. This is a required field.

I hope going over the basics doesn't offend you. Something isn't set correctly and hopefully we can quickly figure out what it is.

EBookCompiler Your compiler installation is probably corrupted.

1. Uninstall
2. Delete ANS2000.INI (probably in the Windows folder)
3. Reinstall

While I am NOT accusing you of anything - please be aware that IF you are using or attempted to use an illegal warez/crackz/key-generator:-
(A) It's illegal.
(B) This may be what corrupted your installation
(C) It may a good idea to run an anti-virus check. Some of sites distributing this kind of material may contain viruses or trojans which can corrupt your computer.

Note: If you have previously purchased ("registered" a copy of the software from us (nobody else is authorized to sell it), please follow steps 1-3 above, then follow the Lost Keys procedure on our contact page.
