Dating Ebook - How Do I Offer It On My Site?

Truegho How do I offer a zipped Dating Ebook from my site? I mean, how do I set the link up so that people can download the zipped version? I want to display the cover the ebook, together with a link which will automatically download the free ebook to anybody who wants it.

Any advice anyone?

EBookCompiler Upload the ZIP file to your web site with FTP, in binary mode.

Make a hyperlink from your web page (just as if you were linking to another web page) but to the ZIP file, including the full URL to it.

Thanks for your help. I use Dreamweaver 4 as my FTP client. Has it got a function in that for uploading in Binary mode?

Storyman Truegho,

DW4 should be able to handle the FTP (as long as you set up the site management protocols correctly.)

You might want to check out this site if you are having trouble. I haven't used it myself, but it's free!

Truegho Hi,

Problem again with offering a free dating ebook on my site.

The ebook files I got from the vendor are in a Flash extension format. These means that I cannot open any of their covers in Photoshop to edit and display on my site. I don't want to put a direct download link at present, as anybody could download them without signing up. I want to offer them so that only members can download them.

So how can I open a file with a Flash extension in Photoshop?

Storyman You are swimming in the deep end of the pool. Flash has two file types: FLA & SWF. FLA are the development files and SWF are the distripution files--neither of which Photoshop will open. You will need the Flash program.

Unfortunately, SWF files are compiled from the FLA files. This means unless you have the FLA file available you won't be able to make any changes to the Flash file.

The best advice I can offer is to contact the person/company that created the Flash file you want to use and ask them to make the changes for you.
