Active Links

sniper I've used ebook compiler for years.  I've never been able to get certain active links to work.   Any links that contain ## that direct me to the certain files, never work in the both compiler and multimedia extention.  I can only link to Active Scripts using the #! link.
Why can't I use the links with ## in them?
I'm trying to get a midi file to play with no success.

sniper OK.... let me try a different approach:
Can somebody direct me to support for the MM Extention product.  It has yet to work for me.

EBookCompiler Hello are you Scott? If yes, I just sent you the missing/lost password in email.

use ## if the script commands are right there in the HTML

For the board, I am using the [ ] instead of less-than greater than (you need to correct that when putting in HTML change)

[A HREF="##MESSAGEBOX('Hello')##MESSAGEBOX('goodbye')"]Click Here[/A]

versus

(A HREF="#!somefile.as"]Click here[/A]

First example runs a script commands in the HTML code

Second eaxmple runs an external script file somefile.as

Does that help?

sniper Well, actually I knew that part already.
The active scripts (the ones that contain #!) work fine.
It's the active links (##) that have never worked.
Also, there might be something up with my computer because I download and ran the multi Media demo and there was link in there that wouldn't pull up the device needed or something because I got an error message instead.
I'll run it again and let you know which one it is.
But the multi media extention hasn't work for me yet, even with the active script.  I tried to play a midi file using both methods: active link and active script.
And I know that I'm not mistyping because I've been using the ebookcompiler with scripts for several years.
You probably don't remember me but my old username in these forums was dragnson.  I couldn't log on because I couldn't remember my password.
I'm the guy that was building databases with the ebook compiler.  I've been pre-occupied for the past several years with the military.
I had to build a new profile, so I just used my military occupation as the username.
So I've become kinda rusty at it but I've always wanted to get the multi-media extention.  Now that I've got it, I'm disappointed because it won't work for me.
Please help me out.
You've always had the solution when I needed it.

EBookCompiler Can you email me the HTML or script code that is causing the problem, or doesn't work?

Posted on: 9:10 pm on June 8, 2004
sniper The multi media code link is towards the bottom of the html script.
Everything else works, except that.
Nothing happens when I click on that link.
The ebook is a rebrandable so the preprocessor was used if you need that information.
The midi file (a2kprog5.mid) is included within the ebook file directory along all of the files.
