Embedding Media Players

TSEROOGY I'm creating an e-book and would like to include an embedded Windows Media Player.

Are there any experienced authors with some words of wisdom/warning?

- What, if any, considerations need to be made for running this on different platforms - i.e. Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP etc.?

- Does Active E-Book allow the plugin to be downloaded and utilized if the reader does not have it on his system?

Your help is appreciated.

Best regards,

EBookCompiler Older Windows versions don't have the media player

I don't know answer to second question. I guess the answer is to test. In general most IE features do work.

brainsci There are no warnings for any OS.  I use them all the time.

No, if you don't have the approprate codec installed, there will be no prompt to download.

But I never bother with that.  I simply suggest, for those who don't see the playslot (the front-end for the plug-in) that they install quicktime.  It integrates with IE and Active without any problem.
