I do hope someone has an answer to this problem. I use Front Page 2000 without problems. My ebook functions and all was well for months. Suddenly, in the preview option of FP, no jpg shows up (only gifs), nor in the browser view nor when I download my own ebook just to check it....also no jpg pictures.
On my webpages in FP, the image tag is there in preview but no jpg (I can see it in normal view) yet when I upload pages to my server, all images are there.
My problem is - and I have looked all over the internet for a solution - I cannot preview my pages properly, as even some backgrounds are jpg and the most upsetting thing is that I cannot be certain if jpg images show up on THEIR computer when a customer buys my book.
It is strange. Why would a compiled book suddenly not have pictures when last week it did? What does that have to do with my Front Page problem?
Only new thing I did, was install a new scanner...that is working fine. I also installed the ACDSee image editor that came with it and deinstalled the Photo Impact I used before.
Please someone tell me there is nothing wrong with my ebook, it is just a problem with my computer. AND...does anyone know a solution to my my Frontpage problem?
Hello, Sunnil! Thank you for such a quick reply. I have checked the image tags etc and all is as they were in the past when I had no problem. Odd thing is that old webpages, that I have not touched in months also have the same problem. Everything I open in FP, html made with FP but compiled into ebooks and other people's ebooks - I cannot see the jpg but can see the gifs.
I looked at another post here regards missing images, but it is not of that nature.
I just do not understand how when I download my own ebook to check it, suddenly I cannot see the jpg photos.
Do you see the graphic background in our About page of our 4.22 Help (Dickens and the circuit board). This is a JPEG.
Also Try File Open in Internet Explorer and see if you can open and view a JPEG file. You should be able to
If you can't see them maybe some part of your web browser has been corrupted/crashed. In which case:- 1. Run antivirus check ASAP - make sure you get the latest templates/update from your vendor 2. You can reinstall IE fromwww.microsoft.com/ieif you don't have a CD
Thanks again, Sunnil for answering. When surfing the internet, I can see jpgs etc without problem, so this part is not a problem.
The problem is when I wish to preview web pages I am working on in FP, old or new ones, in FP's preview I see no jpegs but I see gifs. When I download my own ebook to check it, I see no jpegs but gifs are there...although the last time I downloaded my own ebook, there was no problem. This is all a recent phenomaena.
Opening an ebook by a friend of mine who used another compiler (ebook pro, I think) I cannot see the jpegs there either.
