ok... it's probably me, but i did a activ quick project, and put my htm files (one named index.htm) into my source directory and opened the project. when i do a 'run' it just loads the splash screen and that's it. no e-book. any clues? (total newbie)
Have you done Run > Build? This will create your ebook (.exe). Did you get any error messages?
I'm sure I had this problem when I began, and I've been looking through the Help to try and remember what caused it! I'm certain it was something fairly straightforward that I'd forgotten - I just can't remember what it was!
thanks for the quick reply, i really appreciate it. yes i did run & build, and there were no error messages. it creates the .exe file, but when you run it, it just loads the splash screen and then the splash screen disappears. the ebook doesn't load, it just goes back to the compiler. it shouldn't matter what was in the index.htm should it? all i had was a test page with a .jpg and some text on it. index.htm and a .jpg in my source file. arrrgh... (it's a great program, just not working for me yet) thanks

Did anybody come up with a solution to this? I am having a play on a friends compiler and my first effort produced exactly the same result. i.e splash screen and nothing else.
Thank you for your prompt response, in this case I think I had better leave things alone and wait for the return from overseas of the owner.
It is of course possible that there may be a corrupt file causing the problem, however in this case I think it unlikely there will be "warez/cracks" present on the machine.
The lady in question is a high profile and extremely ethical business woman, the type of person that has all her original software in boxes neatly arranged on a shelf above her machine if you can imagine what I mean.
