Hi, One of my visitors reported this error which has me baffled. In his words...
"I downloaded a couple of your free ebooks but, when I try to open them, I get an error message that says the files can't be opened because they don't start with "%PDF-"..."
The ebooks in question were all compiled using Activ version 4.01. The customer is running Windows 98 with IE6.
Anyone got any ideas what might be going on?
Many thanks for your help.
Michael

I'm guessing, but I think he is trying something like saving the file with a .pdf extension, or using File Open in Acrobat and trying to open it. (maybe he has seen a PDF ebook before so thinks it must be like this)
Tell him to save with an .exe extension and then simply double click the file in Windows Explorer.
Get him to describe the exact steps he is doing to you, or maybe get him to get a screenshot and send it to you (this might give a major clue) 1. When the error comes up 2. Press PrintScreen 3. Go to Windows Paint in Accessories and click Paste 4. Save the file in paint, and attach it to an email to you
